Care Plus Tick Tester Set - Lyme Disease
This self diagnosis test is used on a tick that has bitten you and will indicate the presence of Borrelia bacteria which could lead to infection with Lyme Disease which in some cases can prove to be extremely debilitating. Note - this test is a test of the tick and does not require any blood sample or any other material from the person bitten. Each test is one use only.

The rapid Lyme bacteria Tick-Test is a lateral flow test - a simple diagnostic tool to detect the presence or absence of this bacteria. It works much in the same way as a home pregnancy test. First place the tick in the test tube, crush the tick with the wooden stick, add a drop or two of the liquid provided with the pipette, and place on the test cassette. After just 20 minutes the test indicates if the tick has tested positive or negative. If 2 red lines show on the cassette the tick is infected with Borrelia.

Please note, just because a tick is infected this does not necessarily mean that the infection will automatically have passed on to the person bitten. However, it is a very good indication that medical consultation should be sought as soon as possible. Early diagnosis of, or treatment against, Lyme disease can be key in preventing some of the most dangerous and long lasting symptoms.

It is important to protect the skin against insect bites or stings. Care Plus® has a whole rang of products for this purpose. But it is still possible that you may get bitten or stung. This can make the skin very itchy and/or irritable, however, Care Plus Bite Gel can help relieve these symptoms.

This gel is specially designed to soothe and calm the skin after insect stings (for example by mosquitoes, wasps and horse-flies as well as jellyfish and stinging nettles). The special formulation eases the itching and soothes the irritation.

This gel contains ammonia, which has a proven soothing effect, and camphor, which hardens the skin. Other ingredients in this product are: bisabolol, tea trea oil and eucalyptus. The latter ingredient ensures that the gel leaves a pleasant smell behind after the initial smell has been dispelled. The Bite Gel comes in a handy dosing pack: convenient for use when travelling.

Instructions for use:

Shake well before application.
After being stung or bitten, apply liberally onto and around the affected area.
Repeat it necessary.
Only cover once the gel has dried.

This product contains ammonia and limonene and is for external use only. Keep and store out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, open wounds and mucous membranes. Can be used on persons from 2 years of age upwards. Do not use in case of allergy to one of the ingredients. If the symptoms persist or become more serious, consult a doctor.
